Conference on Multiannual Financial Framework and Cohesion Policy held in Zagreb

The Conference "Challenges to the Adoption of the New Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) 2021 - 2027 and the Position of Cohesion Policy in the New Budget", which was organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds and ESIF - Adult Education Facility for European Structural and Investment Funds and European Union programs, was held today as part of the Croatian Presidency of the Council of the EU and was marked by the visit of Mr. Klaus-Heiner Lehne, President of the European Court of Auditors (ECA).

After an introductory speech by the President of the European Court of Auditors, Mr. Klaus-Heiner Lehne, the attendees of the Conference had the opportunity to hear the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Mr. Andrej Plenković, the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Mr. Marko Pavić, and the Croatian Member of the European Court of Auditors, Ms. Ivana Maletić. The introductory speeches were followed by a working panel moderated by Mr. Zvonimir Savić, Director of the Division for Financial Institutions and Economic Analysis at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Economic Affairs, in which Mr. Pavić, Ms. Maletić and Mr. Luka Burilović, President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, took part.

E.S.I.F. - The Institution for Adult Education for European Structural and Investment Funds and Programs of the European Union was founded by the National Foundation for Civil Society Development. Its representatives Ms. Cvjetana Plavša-Matić, National Foundation Director, and Mr. Luka Bogdan, Deputy Director for European Union Programs, also participated in the Conference.

The importance of synergy between the European and national budgets, the exchange of experience and opinions between Croatian experts, the European Court of Auditors and other stakeholders, Cohesion Policy in the new multiannual financial framework, as well as the challenges and objectives of Cohesion Policy represent some of the key topics covered by this Conference.
