EU funds changing Croatia for the better
The exhibition "EU Funds are Changing Croatia", which was organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds and the MEP Office, was held at the European Parliament in Brussels from 20 to 24 January 2020.
The exhibition was officially opened by the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds, Marko Pavic Msc on Tuesday, January 21, 2020.
The aim of the exhibition, which put forward the direct results of six years of full membership in the Union, is to show how Croatia, through European funds, invests in a balanced regional development of all regions through investments in economy, entrepreneurship, agriculture, employment, as well as innovative, developmental, scientific, cultural, social and educational projects which bring forward positive changes in Croatia and ensure a better quality of life for all Croatian citizens.
The promotional film and photo exhibition showcased some of the EU projects that are changing Croatia for the better, that is, visitors had the opportunity to find out how these projects contribute to a more balanced regional development and the promotion of Croatian cultural heritage.
All Member States, i.e. MEPs and senior officials of the EU institutions, had the opportunity to learn more about forty projects funded by the European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) showing the benefits and importance of economic, social and territorial cohesion in the Republic of Croatia.
Of the forty projects that were presented, the National Foundation for Civil Society Development - as a Level 2 Intermediate Body - was responsible for the grant award process and for monitoring the implementation of three projects undertaken by Croatian NGOs, which showed that civil society is changing Croatia through EU funds, all for the benefit of the citizens. The three mentioned projects were presented at the exhibition by the Association for the Promotion of Quality Education of Youth with Disabilities "Imagine", the Association for the Promotion and Development of the Creative and Social Potencies of Children, Youth and Adults “Carpe Diem”, and the Judo Club for People with Disabilites “Fuji”.
